From the back cover

Leo Vance is the salesman who built half his company's revenue, personally recruited by the Chairman and free to work as he pleases. When he eats one cookie at his desk during overtime, his manager Miranda Thorne seizes the moment and revokes his hundred-thousand-dollar commission from the Pais contract.

She parades him before an all-hands meeting, strips him of his title, and installs Felix Thorne as the new Sales Director, handing over Leo's client files. Leo agrees to everything without a fight, moves to a sunbaked cubicle, and clocks out on time for the first time in years.

As Felix imposes impossible quotas on the team, Leo quietly files for his first vacation in eight years, leaving the new regime to discover exactly what his clients demand.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

She jabbed a finger in my face, her own turning purple with rage. “Don’t get cocky just because you landed that big account, Leo!”

“This is a place of business! If you want to eat, go home and do it!” she shrieked. “The company has a clear policy against snacking at your desk! You broke the rule, and you knew exactly what you were doing. That makes it worse!”

“So, that hundred-thousand-dollar commission from the Pais contract? It’s gone.”

I just looked at her and said, flatly, “Fine.”
