Privacy Policy

Welcome to the privacy notice for Splash Pages — pull up a chair and we'll walk you through it.
No accounts, no sign-up
You don't need an account to browse Splash Pages. There's no sign-up, no login, and no profile to fill in. You just come in, look around, and read the opening chapters of whatever catches your eye.
What stays in your own browser
Some things are kept right on your device, in your browser's local storage, and they never get sent to our server:
- Your reading settings, like text size, line spacing, and theme.
- Your list of opened books — your shelf and your reading progress.
Because this lives only in your browser, clearing your browser data will wipe it. If you switch devices or browsers, your shelf won't follow you.
What our server sees
Like most websites, Splash Pages keeps standard server logs — things such as IP address, browser or user agent, the pages requested, the referring page, and the time of the visit. We keep these for security and to keep the site running, and only for a limited period. We also look at aggregated visit statistics that don't identify anyone in particular.
Clicks and the official app
When you click through from Splash Pages to the official app, we record that click in aggregate — just country and device type — so we can get a sense of which books are useful to readers. Once you leave our site for the official app, that app's own privacy policy applies.
Reader codes and ads
Copying a reader code happens locally in your browser. We don't build advertising profiles, and we don't sell personal data.
Children
Splash Pages isn't directed at children under 13, or under the local age of digital consent where that's higher. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write in and we'll take care of it.
Your choices
You can ask us for access to, or deletion of, any data linked to you. Just send a note and we'll help.

Changes to this notice
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version on this page with a fresh date. Thanks for reading — and enjoy the shelves.
