From the back cover

Geraldine has spent six months believing she and Oliver Holland are a couple. They share meals, dates, kisses and whispered confessions, and he drives her to work whenever it rains. Then his parents arrange a blind date for him with Abigail Floyd, his old college crush, and Oliver tells Geraldine the truth: they were only ever sleeping together, and he sees her as his best friend.

At his family's house, surrounded by roses prepared for Abigail, Oliver demands the heirloom bracelet his mother gave Geraldine, afraid Abigail will get the wrong idea. Rebecca Dillon reminds him he once begged on his knees for Geraldine to wear it. Geraldine agrees to return it and leaves, planning to move to Atharia with her parents.

When she comes back with the bracelet, Oliver is stunned to see her, and his easy laughter with Abigail carries through the door.

When I freeze, Oliver opens his eyes and lets out a short, mocking laugh. "What's wrong with you? We're just sleeping together.
