On her honeymoon, Zoe is dragged to a desert island by her husband Larry Shaw and his friends, who insist on shark diving. Heidi Sands, Larry's closest friend, refuses to stay out of the water despite being on her period, and Larry and the others mock Zoe for warning them that blood draws sharks. When Zoe tries to help Heidi in the water, Heidi kicks her in the head and leaves her to the sharks, then returns home to report a drowning, seize Zoe's wealth, and marry Larry. Zoe's parents, broken by her death, take their own lives.

Zoe wakes to find herself back on the island before the dive, with Heidi repeating the same reckless boasts and Larry defending her. This time Zoe stops arguing and asks for the speedboat to return to shore, but Larry slaps her and smashes the propeller, trapping her aboard. She pretends to give in, watching as Heidi and the others enter the water unguarded, resolved to let them meet the fate she remembers.

I reasoned against it, as sharks would go amok from the scent of blood, only for Heidi to snap at me, "You're just jealous I have a nice body! That's why you don't want me to have fun with your husband!"

My own husband and his other buddies joined in too, brushing me off impatiently.
