From the back cover

Izara has spent years watching Alpha Mavros Avalon, her fated mate and the father of her son Kallias, choose her sister Vivian over them both. When Mavros fails to appear at the Moon Goddess Festival as promised, Kallias waits for him until the end, clutching his dolphin plushie. Mavros is with Vivian instead.

At the grave, a photo from her friend Monica Severinus shows Mavros at the festival with Vivian. Izara packs to leave the Amunar pack for good. Mavros calls her grief a tantrum, and Vivian claims Kallias faked his illness. Izara slaps her, and Mavros demands to know what is wrong with her.

With the bond never sealed and nothing left to hold her, Izara must decide whether to walk away from the mate who abandoned her son.

Izara's POV

“Mommy, is Daddy coming?”

Kallias’s soft voice plays on repeat in my mind, each word cutting into me like a blade. I can still see his pale face, those wide, hopeful eyes that clung to every promise his father never kept. I choke back a sob, my throat tightening as the memory guts me. Mavros promised—he swore—he’d be there. Said we’d spend the Moon Goddess Festival as a family.
