Theresa Mazzarello runs her family's company, and she has had enough of Madeleine Lidoine, a new intern whose work is poor and whose attitude is worse. When Theresa asks her not to eat fried curry instant noodles at her desk, Madeleine refuses, drops the bowl on the floor and declares that she is pregnant with the child of Theresa's brother, the family's future president, and that Theresa must kneel and apologize to her.

Theresa fires her on the spot, but Madeleine returns with Theresa's brother, who sides with the intern and demands that Theresa kneel to her sister-in-law. Theresa answers that an adopted son without a household registration is only a foster son. Madeleine then claims the company is not Theresa's to control, and orders Mr. Leopold Mandic of Human Resources to dismiss Theresa and double his salary, while the other interns, convinced by Madeleine, turn on Theresa.
