Billionaire In Disguise

From the back cover

At NYU, Sean has spent three years keeping a low profile, so when his roommate Leo's father lies in the ICU after a fall from scaffolding, Sean quietly withdraws a hundred thousand dollars in cash to cover the emergency bills. The gesture should end there, but Chase Sterling, the campus trust-fund tyrant, publicly brands the money counterfeit and has his lackeys scatter it across the floor, while Chloe Reed, the girl Sean once adored, flaunts the jewelry he gave her as cheap knockoffs and turns his old confidences against him.

With the crowd jeering and Leo desperate on his knees, Sean points at the scattered pieces and proposes a wager: if the jewels are genuine, Chase and Chloe repay him in full and kneel in apology; if not, Sean kneels before them. Chase summons an appraiser, certain of victory, but the verdict he demands may cost him far more than he bargained for.
