From the back cover

On the eve of her wedding, Angela Stark watches her fiancé, Brandon Foster, and his best friend, Wanda Stiles, produce a marriage certificate at a casino table. Brandon calls it a drunken joke and insists he and Wanda are strictly platonic, while Wanda invites the table to hand over wedding presents. Angela sits down to play the dice game herself.

As the stakes rise, Brandon keeps Wanda on his lap and never looks at Angela. When Angela loses the first round, her pink diamond earrings go to Wanda; when Brandon rolls a hard six, Wanda claims Angela's grandmother's keepsake bracelet. Brandon orders her to hand it over, table rules, a bet's a bet.

Angela must decide how much of herself she will wager at a table where her fiancé has already chosen his partner.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

Brandon shrugged as he said, "It's just a joke—we'll be divorced tomorrow, and everyone knows that Wanda and I are strictly platonic."

Wanda Stiles, however, was smiling provokingly. "Come on—they say marriage is sacred, so you guys can quit gawking already and hand us our wedding presents!"
