Wendy's decade-long fandom friend is on the phone, chirping about a shared motel room and pit passes. Abby knows what that voice did in an interrogation room, denying ever hearing Wendy's name. She warns Wendy that the friend is drowning in predatory debt and has cut a deal with human traffickers, but her parents see only a hysterical younger sister, and the friend laughs off every accusation.
