From the back cover

Nine months pregnant with twins, Mia begs her husband Cole to take her to the hospital. Instead, he locks her in the abandoned attic, because his first love Ivy claims her belly hurts her feelings. Downstairs, Cole holds Ivy and kisses her while Mia screams through contractions without food, water, or help.

Three days later, Mia dies in the attic with her unborn children in her arms, and now drifts beside them as a ghost. Cole, sipping porridge, orders the butler to tell Mia to come out, make his porridge, and apologize to Ivy before he will send her to the hospital. The butler hesitates, mentioning the twins and the doctor's advice, but Cole dismisses it as an act.

In the guest room, Ivy clings to Cole, calling him Brother Alex, while he swears this is the last time that woman will carry a child for him. Only Mia, unseen, watches the blood spread across the attic floor.

Three days later, I died with my unborn children in my arms.

Now I stand beside them as a ghost.

Three days later, Cole, sipping a bowl of rice porridge that didn't suit his taste, said:

"Tell Mia to come out and make me a bowl of porridge, then apologize to Ivy.
