From the back cover

Darcy Rollins is back at a Wyoming campsite, reliving the argument she already survived once. Her boyfriend Zach wants to film grizzly bears in the back mountain for his channel, egged on by Lexie, the girl-bro who mocks Darcy for hesitating. In the life Darcy remembers, she warned the guide, Lexie slipped out anyway, and starving bears left only a blood-soaked boot. Zach blamed Darcy, tied her to a pine, and the same grizzlies tore her open.

Now the group is arguing again. Dave and Luke call Darcy dead weight; Zach accuses her of sabotaging his career. Darcy agrees to the trek, then hands Zach a waiver releasing guide Jed and herself from all liability for injury or death in the restricted area. Zach and Lexie sign.

Jed warns that the bears are starving man-eaters and that going back there is suicide bait. Darcy folds the signed waiver into her pocket and says nothing more.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

A spring trek through the rugged Wyoming backcountry. The moment we touched down, my boyfriend’s toxic "girl-bro" insisted on heading straight to the deep woods of the back mountain to shoot grizzly bears.

She claimed she wanted to film a viral clickbait video—something along the lines of LexieWildlife Interaction Meets Wilderness Survival GuideLexie.

What she didn’t know was that the grizzlies in these mountains right now were fresh out of hibernation.
