Ten days after giving birth, Hailey catches Clifford Sanchez cheating again. At the hotel, he ruffles her hair and tells her the girl is young and doesn't know better; Janet Sullivan peeks out from behind him, teasing that the two of them will never divorce anyway. Ten years Hailey has stayed with Clifford, who claims an intimacy disorder and cheats over and over to test whether she will leave. This time, still aching from her incision, she says she will no longer play his game.

Back at the postpartum recovery center Clifford chose for her, Hailey tells her mother she wants to leave Kingsport for Southaven once her recovery ends. Clifford arrives with a gift settlement contract, handing over every asset in his name to her and their ten-day-old child, and insists he is only insecure. When Janet visits with a bouquet of lilies, Hailey's allergy flares and Clifford still follows Janet out.

Hailey books her mother's ticket, wires money ahead, and has a lawyer draft divorce settlement papers. Janet keeps sending taunting photos.
