Violet is the Luna of the Grimshade Pack, bound by a mate bond to its Alpha, Elias. When she first proposes rejecting that bond, he locks her in a bedroom for five days and four nights, then blames a heat drug for his betrayal with Fiona. Again and again he swears Fiona is only a Dubois pack spy he must keep close, while Violet is punished, suspected and shut out.
After Fiona loses her child, Elias orders Violet locked in a torture chamber. From there she secretly arranges to erase her birth records and be taken away with her child. Elias does not know he already has a son by her, and she has resolved that there will be no future for them.
As the mate bond is prepared for severance, Fiona stages her own disappearance, and Elias turns on Violet once more, refusing to believe her.
