From the back cover

During a geological survey, the ground collapses and Layla tumbles into a deep pit with Rosalie Lewis, the old flame of her husband Yosef Gibson. Yosef believes Layla dragged Rosalie down on purpose. He carries the unconscious Rosalie to safety but ignores Layla's faint cries, ordering the pit sealed with huge rocks as punishment. Trapped in the remote mountains and three months pregnant, Layla scratches at the stones until her strength and breath give out.

At the hospital, Yosef keeps Rosalie under guard and forbids anyone from helping Layla. His assistant Mark and the geologist Chris try to speak up, but Yosef dismisses their warnings, certain Layla is only faking. Rosalie wakes with barely a scratch and begs Yosef to rescue Layla, yet Layla's spirit has watched her shove her toward the falling rocks and knows the innocence is a lie.

As Yosef promises Rosalie a divorce and marriage, Layla's spirit can only watch the pair she once trusted, her own name already buried under the stones.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

During a geological survey, the ground just gave way beneath us.

Rosalie Lewis, my husband Yosef Gibson's old flame, and I tumbled into a deep pit, buried under a pile of rocks.

Yosef thought I'd intentionally dragged Rosalie down with me as we fell.

With tears in his eyes, he saved the unconscious Rosalie, but ignored my faint cries for help.

"Layla, you damn bitch! If she's hurt, you'll pay with your life!" Yosef yelled.

As a punishment, Yosef ordered the pit sealed with huge rocks.
