Barly Hudson appoints Aurel Grann as chief physician in obstetrics and gynecology, and when no one will book appointments with her, he uses his own wife, Marina Jones, as the marketing gimmick. Aurel issues a certificate claiming Marina has undergone seven abortions, and the resulting publicity destroys Marina's reputation while drawing in new patients.

When Marina finally asks for a divorce, Barly calls it an overreaction, insisting he was only helping Aurel and that a dent in Marina's reputation will not kill her.
