To him she is a prop, a stand-in, a woman who will believe anything.

So Anna stops waiting. Anonymous on his favourite forum, she offers a method for getting a dead woman pregnant, and Dennis takes the bait, ready to pay a fortune for it. Now the woman he never loved is the one holding the thread.
