When human traffickers abduct Aaron Payne, his brother Nathan is told that 80,000 dollars can buy him back. Nathan returns to the wealthy parents he has not seen in two years and begs for the money, but they rage that he is inventing a kidnapping to scam them.

With nowhere else to turn, Nathan sells a kidney for 80,000 dollars. The moment the anesthesia wears off, his parents accuse him of theft, empty his account, and hand the money to his adopted brother, Steve Payne, who buys an 80,000-dollar watch. Steve plays the victim, and their parents disown Nathan and Aaron.

Nathan keeps searching, handing out missing-person flyers, until an officer's call sends him to Fairway Hospital to say goodbye to Aaron.
