Hazel has spent her whole life watching her sister Scarlett take what belongs to her. As children, Scarlett pointed at Hazel's trophy and spoke her first real sentence: "I want it." Her parents handed it over without hesitation, and the pattern never stopped—the bike Hazel worked part-time jobs to buy, and eventually even her parents' affection, all went to Scarlett.

When Hazel brings her boyfriend Liam home for the holidays, Scarlett points at him and says the same three words.
