At two in the morning her phone rings; she slips out and returns mid-morning. Simon needed his reading glasses. The reset alarm rang unanswered for over forty minutes, and Adam's father collapsed, splitting his forehead open.
When Simon arrives with a fruit basket and easy tears, Morgan's sympathy flows to him. Then a call comes about a vintage upright piano in storage—and Morgan orders it delivered to their home, without asking Adam once.
