When the bills went unpaid and the doctors delivered their verdict, Vivian overheard Iain on the phone: she had been dropped on purpose so Sienna could win. The couture gown on Sienna's television victory, the pale blue sleeve in the corner of the frame, the director's confirmation that Iain stood beside her — every lie came apart. Watching the recording of her fall, Vivian sees Iain's hands freeze just before she lands.

Confronted, Iain turns wounded and furious, reminding her of everything he claims to have saved her from. Vivian's legs are dead, her mother is gone, and the man who once urged her not to give up her dream now asks why she is so ungrateful.
