From the back cover
A BBQ joint downstairs stays open until dawn, its drunken noise tormenting the whole apartment complex. When residents demand answers, the owner, Frank, responds with thuggish arrogance, and a printed notice blaming the neighbors ignites the building. Only after a furious mob blocks his entrance does Frank back down and promise to close by midnight.
But Frank and his wife, Brenda, are the neighborhood tyrants: over seventy absurd building rules, unpaid fees, red paint on doors, and a bratty kid defended with the catchphrase "Why are you arguing with a child?" When Brenda's pregnancy becomes Frank's excuse for dictating WiFi curfews and bans on perfume, the narrator in apartment 602, a self-described menace, answers with a mobile hotspot named to mock Frank's radiation fears.
Frank retaliates by keeping the BBQ open until 2 or 3 AM, punishing everyone. One rebel may not be enough, but the narrator is ready to take the stage.
Inside the book Opening excerpt
Drunken shouting, blaring music, and obnoxious noise kept the entire neighborhood awake.
When the residents went to the owner to demand an explanation, the guy acted like an absolute thug, totally unreasonable.
So, I printed a notice and stuck it right on his storefront:
"If you're afraid of noise, move to a mansion. Otherwise, poor people just need to learn how to endure."
