After a fresh cartilage piercing, Riley visits her brother Ashton's salon, Haven Hair Studio, where a hostile stylist named Tiffany Carraway deliberately sprays water on her injured ear, smears off half her foundation, and accuses her of chasing another woman's man. When Ashton appears, he bluntly dismisses Tiffany's complaints and dries Riley's hair himself, leaving the stylist humiliated and furious.

Outside, Tiffany slaps Riley and warns her to stay away from Ashton, then confronts her again at Bayside Medical Center, where Riley has come to treat her inflamed ear. There Tiffany publicly brands her a homewrecker and worse, drawing a crowd, until Riley's old friend Harper Winslow steps in. As Riley tries to call the police, Tiffany shoves the pregnant Harper to the ground.

The pain brought me to tears.

When I stopped her, she sneered, "If you can't even handle this pain, how do you have the guts to go after someone else's man?"

I was dumbfounded. Then she accused me of being "a fake, acting all innocent like a two-faced dove."

I'd had enough. I grabbed the blow dryer from her hand and shoved it into my brother Ashton’s arms. "You're the boss—your turn!"
