Shattered Facets: The Designer's Revenge

From the back cover

At a high-stakes jewelry design competition, Sophia watches her boyfriend Julian's scheme unfold: her design drafts have been stolen and her files wiped, and her underclassman Chloe is presented to the industry as a prodigy. Julian claims Sophia was too busy to finish her own submission, and the two of them steer the room's sympathy and praise toward Chloe.

Sophia realizes the encrypted archive could only have been opened with a password known to Julian alone, and he admits he handed her work over. With no proof in hand, she refuses to give them the scene they want, toasting Chloe's success instead while the legendary collector Elsa awards Chloe the setting of the ten-million-dollar Heart of the Ocean.

Sophia knows something the room does not: she alone possesses the cutting technique that piece demands. She lets the triumph stand, waiting for the moment the stone itself will answer for the theft.
