From the back cover

Chloe Hastings agreed to a marriage alliance with Arthur Vance, but Arthur is too busy to take part in his own engagement. His younger brother, Ethan Vance, delivers the contract, chooses the house, and even picks out the wedding rings in his place. When Ethan lets slip that Arthur still pines for a woman he could not have, Chloe decides to swap her arranged fiancé for the brother who actually shows up.

On the day of the engagement party, Arthur vanishes. Chloe finds him backstage brawling with a man who looks almost identical to him, each accusing the other of hiding the truth about the alliance. Meanwhile Ethan keeps stalling over the contract, and the name on the paperwork is his own rather than Arthur's.

Arthur's messages stay cold and silent, while Ethan's attention grows warmer by the day. Chloe must work out what the Vance brothers are really fighting over, and whether the man beside her is a convenient substitute or something far more deliberate.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

My fiancé through a marriage alliance was incredibly busy; his younger brother practically handled everything for him.

From delivering the contract to proposing, from choosing the house to looking at wedding dresses, he didn't even make an appearance three days before the engagement party.
