From the back cover
Since childhood, Nora has believed her sister Sienna holds a spool of time: whenever Sienna is unhappy, the day resets, and only Nora remembers. To keep tomorrow from slipping away, Nora has surrendered her toys, her room, her voice in conversations, and her parents' affection. Now, during her wedding rehearsal, Sienna demands to wear Nora's gown, and Nora refuses for the first time in twenty years. The morning resets six times, and each time her fiancé Garrett gently pushes Sienna aside and returns the ivory silk to Nora, telling her parents she is the only bride he will wait for. On the seventh morning, guilt over trapping Garrett in the loop makes Nora yield. She lets Sienna take the dress and walk the aisle toward him. Then, searching Garrett's coat for mints, she finds a receipt for a seven-day ballroom extension and eighty-five paid guests. The curse was a staged production, and her family its architects. When her father calls her tantrum childish and Garrett urges her to let Sienna have her dream, Nora smiles and says the dress fits her sister better.
Inside the book Opening excerpt
Since I was six years old, I lived under the absolute conviction that time was a tether, and my sister held the spool.
Whenever I made Sienna unhappy, the universe punished me by resetting the day.
The most terrifying part was that nobody else ever seemed to notice. I was the only one condemned to remember. And so, to keep tomorrow from slipping through my fingers, I surrendered everything piece by piece: my favorite toys, the sunlit bedroom on the second floor, my place in conversations, and eventually, whatever scrap of affection my parents had left to give.
