From the back cover

After the college entrance exam results are released, Leo, a scholarship student with barely 200 points, persuades Sarah and Zoe to join him at a vocational college. When Ray Shen refuses and aims for Tsinghua or Peking University, Leo secretly submits a vocational school application in Ray's name, using up the three modification chances. Sarah and Zoe defend Leo and turn on Ray, even as Ray remembers a past life in which their blind loyalty ended in betrayal and death.

Ray returns home in tears and tells his parents everything. His father, furious that Leo has repaid the family's sponsorship this way, calls the teacher and learns the three-change limit was never real; before the deadline, applications can be revised freely. The application is fixed, but Ray knows Leo and the girls are not finished with him, and this time he will not wait to be cornered.

When a Tsinghua acceptance letter arrives, the community group chat erupts, and Sarah's mother and Zoe's mother each claim the honour for their own daughter.
