From the back cover

Reborn on the day they were to be handed to the Demon Realm as consorts, two brothers remember how their wives, the Water Goddess Azure and the Fire Goddess Ignis, once saved them—only for the demons to take Azure's apprentice River instead, and for the goddesses to blame the brothers, turning the heavens against them until their souls were destroyed. This time, the brothers refuse rescue and offer themselves to the Demon Empress and the Beast Queen.

Bound by immortal-binding ropes before the assembled immortals, Caelum and his brother Noctis watch Azure and Ignis arrive to free them—until River is dragged in as a spy. The demon general offers a choice: which of the three shall be saved? Both goddesses cry River's name, and the ice needles pierce the brothers. To spare River, Azure carves the dragon tattoo from Caelum's waist, while Ignis tears the Vitality Orb from Noctis.

As the elder warns that the Chaos Twins must not die, the brothers see that nothing has changed. They repeat their offer to the demons, and Azure and Ignis can only watch in panic.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

My brother and I were reborn on the very day we were to be handed over to the Demon Realm as consorts. Our wives, the Water Goddess and the Fire Goddess, came to our rescue, just as they had in our previous life.

But this time, we made a different choice. We rejected their salvation and willingly offered ourselves to the demons.
