When Ava discovers her husband Ray has cheated again, she does not scream or cry. She simply sends him a listing for two condos and tells him they should buy them for the children. He agrees, and she arranges for him to pay in full at the sales office, in their daughter's and son's names.

Ray wants to return to the family and start over, but Ava has decided his only role now is to provide money. She recalls the first betrayal, when she was pregnant with twins, and the years of affairs that followed, each one settled with gifts and cash. Her heart has long since detached from him.

As she warns him to keep his affairs cheap, the question lingers: what will she do when the money is no longer enough?

I immediately texted the real estate agent.

After years of marriage, I've learned to focus my attention on only one thing: my husband's money.
