The Forensic Bride's Revenge Exposing Her Billionaire Ex

From the back cover

Five years ago, forensic doctor Penelope Simmons spent three days and nights on a painstaking autopsy that uncovered the evidence clearing Luke Gilbert, heir to the Gilbert fortune, of murder. He courted her relentlessly, even shielding her with his own body when an explosion site collapsed and reignited. After two years of courtship they married, and everyone called her luck a fairy tale.

At a charity gala, Penelope overhears Luke dismiss her to a guest, calling her a forensic doctor who spends her days around corpses and brings bad luck, then watches him slide a sixteen-carat pink diamond onto the finger of perfumer Crystal Henson. That night he sends a message claiming office work and does not come home. Penelope calls Henry Gilbert to cash in the family's promise: she wants a divorce.

The next morning Luke returns wearing Crystal's perfume, and Penelope is called to a scene at Crystal's Perfumery, where a man lies dead. Luke rushes in to comfort Crystal, and their eyes meet.
