From the back cover

Kenneth, the Alpha, locks his wife Irene in a faulty walk-in freezer as punishment, believing she trapped his childhood friend Agnes in a storage unit. He leaves her with only a scrap of bread, expecting her to apologize. But the freezer powers back on, and the temperature plunges far below freezing. No one answers Irene's screams, and a week later Kenneth opens the door to find her frozen corpse.

As a spirit, Irene is bound to Kenneth's side, forced to watch him dote on Agnes, who pretends to fear thunder and claims she and Kenneth are like siblings. Agnes secretly gloats that Kenneth is hers alone, while Kenneth coldly insists Irene must beg for mercy before he will release her. Irene can only watch the pair grow closer, trapped in the room with them as the storm passes.

Kenneth has no idea the apology he demands can never come, and Irene's soul lingers, aching over a love that was never truly hers.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

Kenneth was the Alpha. His childhood friend was accidentally locked in a storage unit for three days. To punish me, he locked me in a faulty walk-in freezer.

He left me with nothing but a piece of bread the size of my palm before locking the door and leaving.

Unbeknownst to him, this walk-in freezer wasn't actually faulty.

Not long after he left, the cooling system was suddenly activated.

I screamed for help and desperately sought ways to survive.
