The Heiress and the Salesgirl Chapter 2

Jealousy flashed in her eyes.

While Ethan excitedly checked out the car, she lowered her voice and whispered to me:

"Nice moves, honey. Being that broke and snagging a man of this level?"

This level? Which level? I wanted to laugh.

Ethan's entire outfit today was bought by me. Covered in logos. Very flashy.

She turned to Ethan and said, "It's so hard for girls from humble backgrounds like us. We have to work so hard just to stand in front of someone like you."

Stacy glanced at me. "Unlike some people..."

Ethan looked at me, a bit embarrassed. He pulled me toward the passenger side.

"Penelope, try the passenger seat."

Usually, I let Ethan drive. But that doesn't mean I always sit shotgun.

I opened the driver's door. Before I could sit, a hand stopped me.

Stacy looked at me with fake concern.

"Miss, this car costs $800,000. Regular girls like you don't understand cars. If you break something, it would be bad."

She invited Ethan to sit in the driver's seat, then plopped herself into the passenger seat.

"This car has a lot of features. I studied for a long time to learn them. I can answer Mr. Miller's questions from here."

Ethan patted my head.

"Penelope, I usually drive anyway. Let me figure it out first, then I'll teach you."

Stacy chimed in. "Exactly. Mr. Miller looks like a pro. What do girls like you know about specs and performance?"

Basically, one thinks I'm dumb, and the other thinks I'm broke.

I almost laughed out loud.

Since I got my license at eighteen, I've driven every car in my family's garage. I know way more about cars than Ethan.

I tapped my fingers on the door and said coolly:

"Talking to him is useless. Whether we buy this car depends on my mood."
