From the back cover
Cathy is the only student in the country to earn a perfect SAT score, and her achievement throws her neighborhood, Emerald Green, into a frenzy of pride and greed. The HOA vice president, Karen Myers, and homeowner Marianne Barnett, however, are horrified to learn that the top scorer is the daughter of Tanya Hastings, the woman who sells breakfast burritos from a roadside stall. They order her to keep her stall and her "ragged" clothes out of sight so she won't ruin the neighborhood's upscale image before the mayor and the visiting board of directors arrive.
Cathy knows the truth: the tycoon Jonathan Bloomberg, whose life her mother once saved, sponsored her studies and rents them their home. When Karen kicks Cathy out of the group chat and her mother quietly offers to stay away, Cathy decides to wheel out the burrito stall anyway, turning the reporters' cameras into free advertising for her mother's food.
On the morning of the celebration, Karen screams at Tanya to shut the stall down, while Cathy waits for the arrival of a very important client.
Inside the book Opening excerpt
"Did someone from our neighborhood just get full marks for the SATs? We're already a prestigious neighborhood close to the best high schools in town, and this news will only drive our property values up even more! We might even be able to rent for 1,500 dollars per square foot soon!"
"I bet it must be one of those kids from the huge mansions. They've been attending the most elite boarding school since they were young."
