From the back cover

Midnight in her apartment building, a young woman known as Ms. Grace is tagged again and again in the residents' group chat. Brenda from 1107 accuses her of beating a child every night, and Doris from 1307 insists she heard the screaming at her door. Grace types back that she lives alone, but the neighbors mock her, joke about her, and note that her lights are on and a broken action figure lies on her doormat.

Her video tour of every room proves nothing to them. The next evening Brenda, sobbing, begs her to stop, and Brenda's son Rick posts a photo of a handprint on his mother's face, claiming Grace slapped her and threatened his five-year-old son. Rick pounds on her door with a meat cleaver while the chat demands an apology. Her lease shows she is the sole occupant, yet the neighbors call it fake, and Doris posts a video of a child screaming behind Grace's own door.

“I’m a stickler for details. When I heard the child screaming, I went door to door…
