The Price of Her Freedom

From the back cover

Adopted into the Sinclair family at eight, Clara Vance was renamed Clara Sinclair and raised in their household. When she planned to marry her first love, Shawn, the old master of the family threatened his career and his family's business, forcing her to bear children for Julian Sinclair instead. She demanded one condition: three children, and then her freedom. But the children were taken from her one by one, handed to Julian's wife, Vivienne, while Julian looked on with cold detachment.

Now the third child is born, and Vivienne makes clear that the promise of three was the old master's, not hers. Clara endures the punishments in the courtyard, counting the days until she can walk away, until a nurse tells her she is pregnant with a fourth child. The Sinclairs have no intention of ever letting her go.

This time, Clara resolves to escape the Sinclair family, whatever it costs her.
