From the back cover

At her own wedding, Yvonne Henson runs a mystery-gift auction, but every prize her best friend Eileen Cobb draws is something Eileen had already been wanting. Worse, Eileen plants a kiss on Yvonne's husband-to-be, Gerard Vance, and he lets it happen. When a marriage certificate falls from Eileen's pocket, Yvonne learns that Gerard and Eileen are already married, and that Eileen is carrying his child.

Yvonne sends them both out and stays to finish the wedding she spent months arranging, even as her makeup runs and her hands shake. She remembers the baby she once lost while Gerard was busy settling a stray cat Eileen had taken in, and the way he slowly worked Eileen into every part of their life.

Now Eileen returns to the dressing room, red-eyed, and Yvonne must decide what is left of the day she planned.
