From the back cover

Marcus, a student at Alden University, becomes obsessed with Valerie, the school's untouchable IT girl, and pursues her for weeks without a single glance in return. Because Eden, his sickly childhood friend, lives in a quiet off-campus apartment, Marcus moves in to look after him, and the two are a package deal. When Valerie proves immune to every advance, Marcus decides the two girls are attached at the hip and needs someone to divide and conquer, so he pushes Eden to court Valerie's best friend, Morgan, insisting a racing heart is good for his health.

Eden, pale and perpetually unwell, reluctantly agrees and adds Morgan, only to find he is already on her friends list. One clumsy line from Marcus's playbook is enough: Morgan's replies flood in, panicked and eager, confessing she has liked him for a long time and begging him not to be angry.

Eden sits speechless, lips pressed tight, as Marcus asks whether she replied.

Inside the book Opening excerpt

She wouldn’t even spare him a passing glance.

I pointed to my chronically pale lips. "Marcus, do I look like I have the stamina to court someone?"

He just patted my shoulder with the solemnity of a slick-haired preacher. "Romance is good for your cardiovascular health, Eden."
