Chase Campbell, raised in the South, has been married to Dakota Allen for several years. This New Year, Dakota insists they celebrate at her family's home in a northeastern village, where heavy snow falls and the whole family crowds into the living room to sleep by the single fireplace. There, Chase meets Dakota's younger sister, Yvette Allen, now nineteen and newly grown into a young woman. Her parents, Brad Allen and Ginger Grant, ask Chase to take Yvette back to the city to work, and he agrees at once, though Dakota clearly dislikes the idea.

That night, the family shares one big bed. Yvette lies pressed against Chase, and her sleeping habits and innocent touches stir a desire he struggles to control. He knows he must not betray Dakota, who sleeps right behind him, yet the temptation grows harder to resist.
