Three Years Undercover: My Desperate Search for a Lost Love

From the back cover

Asher had known Skylar for over a decade before they married, and on the night of their engagement she gave him everything. A year later, while he was buried in work, she left on a trip with friends and vanished. The police showed him surveillance footage of men dragging her into a van; a week after that, a video arrived from her phone, and the men's faces were burned into his memory. He quit his job, told no one, and went alone to the borderlands.

Three years on, Asher works for a syndicate run by Sterling, a ruthless leader who deals in dark trades. When Duke orders him to handle a man and a woman, he kills the man but lets the woman go, and Sterling tests him for it. Now the head of the trade division has defected with a shipment, and Asher is sent to retrieve it or destroy it. What he finds in the warehouse changes the shape of his search.

He almost forgot why he joined this outfit. He will not forget.
