Too Cheap To Buy Me Pads, Too Eager To Spoil His Coworker

From the back cover

A husband controls every detail of his wife's life, and she gave up her career to raise their child. At the supermarket, he swaps her twenty-dollar box of organic pads for a five-dollar generic pack, insisting they must save every penny. That night, his phone lights up with a payment notification: he has wired twelve thousand dollars to a new female coworker.

She does not scream or cry. The next morning, she checks out three years of saved skincare, clothes and a back massager on his credit card, then moves with her baby into the downtown condo she bought before they met. When he calls, furious over the charges, she asks why he never thought of saving money before wiring twelve grand to another woman. Then she tells him to find a divorce lawyer.

Her savings, untouched since before the marriage, are her armor. But when she takes her son downstairs for lunch, she finds her husband waiting in the lobby with the coworker at his side.
