After a memory-erasure procedure, a woman forgets her boyfriend of ten years, Peter Ford, and the sister she raised, Beth. She leaves Sterling City and opens a small flower shop in the south, where everyone assumes she will soon return.
One night a stranger asks why she never contacted Peter Ford, who has waited five years. She does not know the name. Outside the window, a man stands watching her, his eyes rimmed with red.
Before the procedure, she had seen Peter kissing Beth, the half-sister she had raised after their mother's death. When Beth pushed her down the stairs, Peter begged her to forgive the girl. In the hospital, she chose to forget. Now she must decide what remains of a life others still claim.
