Shawn Miller believes his life with Bernice is settled: they work together, he supports her, and their wedding is set for next Sunday. Then a photo arrives from her trip abroad — Bernice in a tent, held close by her "bromeo" Ryan. Her phone goes dead, and by dawn her post about youth and freedom tells him everything he needs to know.
When Bernice and Ryan appear at his door, Shawn ends the engagement on the spot, cancels the banquet and refuses to explain himself to her guests. Bernice is stunned, then furious; Ryan's contempt only hardens Shawn's resolve. He blocks her number and walks away.
Bernice returns to his company in the white dress he once loved, apologising and insisting Ryan is only a friend. Shawn shows her the photo and tells her he no longer loves her. If she yearns for freedom, he will grant it.
