While cramming for the GREs, Sarah rents a room in a shared house, hoping for quiet. The day after she moves in, a roommate named Jessica floods the group chat with a list of "House Rules": no noise, no cooking, no pets, no showers after 9 PM, no perfume, and schedules that must match hers. When nobody answers, Jessica declares herself in charge. Sarah fires back, and Jessica responds with furious voice messages and threats.

The other roommate, Megan, warns Sarah that Jessica is applying for the second time, already drove one roommate out, and is best left alone. Sarah refuses to be cowed. After a foul-smelling stain appears outside her door, Sarah retaliates with air freshener and stink bombs, and the two escalate their petty war over the house.

Neither woman will back down, and the shared house becomes a battlefield where every rule is a weapon.
