In her past life, Arwen's maid Linda secretly moved her whole family into the basement of Arwen's remote villa. By night they crept out to eat her food, drink her wine and wear her clothes, while Linda drugged her milk with sleeping pills. When Arwen planned to sell the villa and emigrate, Linda's son Jason Lee strangled her in her bed, and the family forged a suicide note and seized the villa.

Arwen wakes three days before her death, remembering everything. She tries to summon a renovation company to seal the basement with cement, but Linda appears at her door, then returns with a glass of milk. Arwen pours it away and pretends to sleep, then watches from the stairs as Linda unlocks the basement and five relatives crawl out like rats, mocking her and planning to take whatever they want.

When Jason climbs into her bed, Arwen must lie still and silent, or the past could repeat itself.
