Fabian avoided my gaze, while Freddy remained silent.

Finn was the last to speak. He clicked his tongue impatiently and said,

"Fabian, Freddy, there's no point hiding it anymore. Just tell her the truth!"

He looked at me with a hint of excitement in his eyes.

"Yes, Pearly was sent to the slums by us. Who told her to be so spoiled and arrogant, and deliberately get people to bully Cheryl?

"Kelly, you entrusted her to us, so of course we had to teach her a proper lesson.

“She looked down on Cheryl because she came from the slums and called her a filthy pauper. So, we made her experience life at the bottom.”

The moment he finished speaking, he went flying.

Cheryl stared blankly for a moment before screaming.

"Are you insane? How dare you hit Finn? Are you trying to make an enemy of all of Chase Group?"

I lowered my foot and had no interest in arguing with her.

I held out my hand toward Fabian.

"The car keys."

Fabian looked deeply displeased.

"Kelly, what you just did was a little excessive. Finn was only telling the truth."

Freddy helped Finn, who was spitting blood, to his feet. Anger blazed in his eyes.

"Kelly Chase, do you still think you're the CEO who used to have absolute control over Chase Group?

"We're the ones truly in charge of Chase Group now. Aren't you afraid we'll turn against you after what you did to our brother?"

I ignored everyone's angry shouting and simply stared at Fabian.

"The car keys!"

He remained silent for a long moment. Then he suddenly smiled and placed the keys in my palm.

Before I got into the car, he spoke with absolute confidence.

"Kelly, you've been gone for six whole years. Chase Group has long since changed.

"I'll overlook what happened this time. You just got back and didn't know the situation, so you made a foolish mistake.

"Once you pick up Pearly, have her apologize to Cheryl and earn her forgiveness. Then we'll have a proper talk."

I did not reply. I left them with nothing but a cloud of exhaust.

I pressed the accelerator all the way down as I drove, my fury burning through my reason.

When I reached my destination, I got out of the car.

Garbage and filthy water had mixed together all around me, giving off a revolting stench.

Several ill-intentioned men looked me up and down without restraint.

I walked up to a doorway covered by a tattered curtain. A weak cough came from inside.

I stopped midstep, and my hand began to tremble uncontrollably.

“I once faced monsters more than twenty meters tall inside the dungeons, yet I had never been as afraid as I was now.”

The next second, a woman’s pleading sobs came from inside.

"Please, don't take it. It's the last thing my sister left me.

"I—I’ll find work and borrow money. As long as you don't take my sister's pendant, I'll do anything you ask..."

A man began cursing and beating her.

"Let go, you filthy bitch! You actually hid something this valuable from me. I think you..."

"Ahhh!"

Before he could finish, I kicked him out of the room. He crashed through a trail of pots and pans before becoming embedded in the wall.

The woman on the floor was covered in bruises, yet she still clutched the pendant protectively against her chest.

She seemed unable to process what had just happened and stared up at me in a daze.

"Pearly, d-did you come to take me to Heaven?"

Tears streamed down her face.

"Pearly, I missed you so much. I'm sorry. I was still useless. I couldn't protect the Chase Group you left behind."

I crouched down and carefully pulled her into my arms. I held back my tears and comforted her softly.

"It's all right now. It's all right, Pearly. It's your sister. I'm back. We're not going to Heaven. I’m going to deal with the people who hurt you and send them to Hell instead.”

My gaze swept over the man who slid to the floor and went limp. His eyes widened in terror as he tried to escape, but he had no strength left.

"Please, don't kill me! It—it was Cheryl Warren! She paid me to torture this woman!"

I pulled Pearly against me and covered her ears.

Then I called a private number.

"Slums. The third house under the locust tree. John Watson. Take care of it cleanly. Mail him to Cheryl Warren."
