At her wedding photo shoot, Lucia watches her fiancé Carter pose with her twin sister Lily, who stands in for her in the pictures. When the studio falls silent, Carter shrugs it off, saying the twins look identical anyway. Lily calls it a prank, and Carter twists Lucia's engagement ring onto Lily's finger, telling Lucia to sit down and let her sister have this.
Lucia has spent months planning a wedding that reflects Lily's taste, and Carter has vetoed every idea of her own. She cancels the wedding package, then hides it by mentioning the concert tickets she found in his jacket, only to learn he and Lily are going together. At the newly renovated house, Lily's thumb opens the door, and Carter gives her the master bedroom while Lucia and he take a cramped guest room.
Listening to them laugh through the thin wall, Lucia texts her Aunt Valerie overseas and agrees to meet the man she once refused.

Carter finally realized what had happened. His smile stiffened for a fraction of a second before he shrugged it off.
