At the graduation dance, Nora Henson asks Daryl in front of everyone for her first dance with Jayden Morton. Daryl does not argue. He steps aside, watches her take Jayden's hand, and walks out of the hall. Minutes later her messages arrive, scolding him for jealousy and warning that at Lakewood she may not tell anyone he is her boyfriend.

Nora has spent a year as Jayden's mentor, and the line between kindness and something more has worn thin.
