A dinner out turns dangerous when a woman blocks Autumn Crofton and her friend Moya Devaney, demanding Autumn pay another table's bill. When Autumn refuses, the woman declares herself Ivy Lilley, wife of Sterling Corporation's chairman Rory Sterling, and threatens her. Autumn calls Rory, asking about his other wife, and Ivy smashes her phone.

Bodyguards drag the friends down; Ivy kicks and beats them as her employees laugh that the boss's wife is Vice President Lilley. Autumn shouts that she is Rory's legally wedded wife and Moya is from the capital's Devaney family, but Ivy scoffs and vows only she can claim Rory. Autumn fights back, biting and striking until police arrive.

Officer Wang and his partner side with Ivy, blaming the outsiders and demanding payment, apologies and jail. When Moya protests, a stun baton is drawn, and the officers insist that in this city, anything touching Sterling Corporation is above the law.

I refused, telling her I didn’t know them. She exploded.

“Damn it, I’m doing you a favor by letting you pay! Who the hell do you think you are, disrespecting the Sterling Corporation in this city? You looking to die?”
