Alice stood by Carlos Mancini for fifty years, from a nobody on the streets of Sicily to the cold-blooded Don of a Mafia empire. Racing to the hospital, Alice finds Nina sobbing against his chest as he strokes her hair with a tenderness Alice has never seen.

Soaked by the rain, Alice walks out of the hospital, and that night a high fever brings the memories of her last life flooding back.
