The Immortal

From the back cover

Born with a body so fragile that a single slap can snap her neck, Stella is bound to a Resurrection System that brings her back each time she dies. Dumped in a mass grave by her terrified foster mother, she survives and is later taken in by an orphanage, where a light kick ruptures her liver. From then on, no one dares touch her.

When her biological parents, Arthur and Eleanor, finally bring her home, the fake heiress Olivia and her brother Leo see a rival. Olivia tumbles down the stairs and blames Stella, but Stella's bones fracture on contact and she collapses. Leo grabs her arm, and it breaks again. In the hospital, a bowl of chicken soup laced with black pepper leaves Stella coughing blood and declared dead, yet she sits up before her weeping family.

Back home, Stella installs surveillance cameras in every corner, and when Olivia fakes a peanut allergy at dinner, Stella collapses with chest pain and wakes in a funeral home, surrounded by grieving relatives who remind her parents they still have Olivia.
