The Intern Regrets Forcing Me To Pay 700,000 Dollars

From the back cover

At the New Year team-building event, intern Lilith Woods overrides her manager's plan without approval, turning a suburban trip into a seven-day tour of Baline. She slips a room key into Mr. Lucian Stone's pocket and invites him for a private meeting, but he avoids the hotel and stays elsewhere.

That night the police wake him: the hotel bill has exploded past the reserved $100,000 budget. Lilith upgraded rooms to a presidential suite, ordered seafood buffets and Macallan Whisky, and bought luxury handbags on company funds. When Mr. Stone arrives, the interns greet him with a $700,000 bill and expect him to pay for her happiness. He settles it in silence, then issues itemized invoices and pins a message in the group chat: the trip does not qualify for reimbursement, and each of the seven participants owes $100,000.

Lilith retaliates with a tearful post and leads the interns on strike, refusing to work until Mr. Stone apologizes and hands over the money. He turns to the conference room surveillance footage and sends it to HR.
